Eine Knickrute kommt sehr häufig bei Boxern vor. Die Rute hat schlicht und einfach einen Knick. Ganz so einfach, wie es sich anhört ist es dann aber auch wieder nicht, weil dieser Gendefekt sehr oft mit Spaltrachen und Hasenscharten kombiniert ist. Hunde die eine Knickrute haben, sollten also besser nicht zur Zucht genommen werden. Früher, als der Boxer noch kupiert wurde, konnten diese Defekte häufig unter den Teppich gekehrt werden - heute geht das nicht mehr.

To be polite I'll "translate" what I wrote to Sandmann, ok ?

I just tried to explain to Sandmann what a "Knickrute" ( couldn't find the right English word = deformed tail ) is and that it's pretty common for boxers. It's not just a deformed tail but a genetic defect which often goes in combination of harelips and deformed throats. Dogs with a deformed tail shouldn't be used for breeding. In earlier days when tail docking was allowed still one could easily hide those tail defects - but today that isn't possible anymore.

Thanks for the translating.I have learned German also,but I am not practicing it.Its no problem,if somebody is critical,if he/she takes courteously.
These are not the best bulldogs of the world,but I love them.

Well, there are controverse points of view when it comes to certain colours in certain breeds. :wink:

Actually I think that when a thread is started in a foreign language we could at least try to keep it in English because it's obvious that the one who started it probably can't understand much German.
